Telepsychiatry & Medication Management

Telepsychiatry & Medication Management

Telepsychiatry at The Ridge Behavioral Health System

The Ridge Behavioral Health System is pleased to offer quick, convenient and no-cost telehealth assessments to address mental health and substance use issues. Telehealth works similar to “Facetime” or “Skype” and is confidential and HIPAA compliant. Telemedicine utilizes interactive technology to assess and diagnose patients that normally, due to distance, would not be able to access care. Telepsychiatry is offered in child partial hospitalization, adolescent partial hospitalization and adult psychiatric and substance use disorder partial hospitalization programs.

How Telepsychiatry Works

Step 1: Request a Consult Step 2: Connect With Us Step 3: Talk With a Clinician
Contact our Intake Department at 859-269-2325 or 800-753-HOPE (4673). Our Intake Department will email a secure link to launch the ZOOM HIPAA compliant telehealth environment. One of our highly skilled clinicians will complete a level of care assessment while talking with the patient.
Step 4: Consult With a Doctor Step 5: Discuss Care Options Step 6: Receive Quality Care
The level of care assessment will be reviewed by a Board Certified Psychiatric Physician. Treatment options will be shared with the patient and/or referral source. The Ridge Behavioral Health System is accredited by The Joint Commission.

Outpatient Psychiatric Evaluation and Medication Management

Ridge outpatient treatment provides psychiatric evaluations and medication management services. The physician or advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) will see patients ages 5 and older on an individual basis for medication management. New patients making a self-referral may contact the intake office to schedule an initial assessment. The clinical information will be reviewed with the doctor or APRN. The patient will be given an appointment for their initial visit with the provider.

Patients who have been admitted to the adult or youth services inpatient programs or who are being referred by a physician’s office will not be required to have an assessment. They may be referred by the doctor or therapist and will be given an appointment date and time with the physician or APRN for follow-up upon discharge from the hospital. After the initial visit, the provider will continue to see the patient on a regular basis for ongoing medication management.
