David Shraberg, MD
Dr. David Shraberg is is the Medical Director of The Ridge Behavioral Health System. He received his M.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Following which, he completed residencies in psychiatry and in neurology and completed a fellowship in each at the Tulane University School of Medicine. Dr. Shraberg is currently a psychiatrist/neurologist in psychiatry and ECT at The Ridge Behavioral Health System. His primary areas of interest are in studying higher cortical functions and psychiatric manifestations of neurological disease, as well as the interface of psychiatry and neurology as applied neuropsychiatry.
Michael Rieser, MD
Dr. Michael Rieser has been associated with The Ridge since 1994. He received his first board certification in emergency medicine in 1988 and practiced for 10 years, but is no longer active in this field. He also received board certifications in psychiatry as well as child and adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in 1996. Dr. Rieser received his medical degree from University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1981. He completed his residency/fellowship in psychiatry/child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of California at San Diego. Dr. Rieser has served in administrative positions with our hospital as well as Samaritan Hospital, (opening their child and adolescent inpatient psychiatric unit in 1994); Arizona Western College; and Yuma Regional Medical Center. He has also conducted over 40 psychopharmacology clinical trials in his private practice in the past 10 years. He has lectured extensively on various topics in the field of psychiatry and was selected by Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorders (CHADD) to address the 13th and 14th International Conferences on ADHD in the areas of medication management.
Maya Devi, MD
Dr. Maya Devi has been a member of the medical staff of The Ridge Behavioral Health System since 2005. Dr. Devi is board-certified in psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Prior to relocating to Lexington, Dr. Devi was Chief of Psychiatry at Appalachian Regional Hospital and Psychiatric Center in Hazard, Kentucky; as well as attending psychiatrist at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. Dr. Devi received her Medical Degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum, India, and completed her Psychiatry Residency Training at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York, New York in 2000.
Tamela Gilbert, MD
Dr Tamela Gilbert is part of The Ridge Medical Staff on a part-time basis to assist with weekend on-call coverage for youth treatment services. She has been affiliated with The Ridge since 2006. Dr. Gilbert is board-certified in adult, adolescent and child psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Andre Fernandez, MD
Dr. Andre Fernandez has been a member of the medical staff of The Ridge Behavioral Health System since 1996. Dr. Fernandez is board-certified in psychiatry, as well as child and adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Fernandez received his medical degree from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, India in 1987 and completed his Psychiatry Residency at Connecticut Hospital (Yale University Affiliate) in 1994. He completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Texas, where he also held a teaching position in general psychiatry for residents and medical students. Dr. Fernandez has also provided care for patients at Bourbon County Hospital and Samaritan Hospital, as well as maintaining a private practice in Lexington.
Cletus Carvalho, MD
Dr. Cletus Carvalho has joined The Ridge Medical Staff on a part time basis to assist with weekend on-call coverage for adult treatment services. Dr. Carvalho is board-certified in psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, and psychosomatic medicine. Over the past 15 years, he has worked as a psychiatrist in an inpatient mental health center, private practice and academic psychiatry.
Brian Greenlee, MD
Dr. Brian Greenlee joined our medical staff at The Ridge Behavioral Health System in March 2020. Dr. Greenlee is board-certified in psychiatry/neurology psychosomatic medicine by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Prior to joining The Ridge, Dr. Greenlee was Medical Director of My Turning Point in Paris, KY. Dr. Greenlee has also worked as a Private Practitioner in Lexington, KY and Psychiatrist on Acute Psychiatric Unit at Eastern State Hospital/University of Kentucky. Dr. Greenlee received his Doctorate Degree in Medicine from Marshall University, and completed his Psychiatry Residency at University of Kentucky and Neuropsychiatry Fellowship at Dartmouth College.
Nina Eisner, Chief Executive Officer
Nina Eisner received a Bachelors of Social Work from the UK and a Master of Social Work from the University of Illinois. Nina has over 44 years in Behavioral Health Services in a variety of positions, including over 30 years as Administrator/CEO of not for profit and for profit freestanding psychiatric hospitals. She has been CEO of The Ridge Behavioral Health System since 2002. Nina is also very active in Community and Professional organizations including current leadership appointments such as Legislative Chair and Chair of the Behavioral Health Forum for the Kentucky Hospital Association.
Richard McDowell, Chief Financial Officer
Richard McDowell began his career at The Ridge in 2003 as our Chief Financial Officer. He has many years of experience in healthcare financial management in a variety of settings, and is a graduate of The University of Kentucky, with a B.S. in Accounting.
Kellie Holland, Chief Operating Officer
Kellie Holland has over 25 years of progressive experience in Psychiatric Services. Kellie worked as a charge nurse and nurse manager at the Psychiatric Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville for 4 years. She was a Nurse Manager and then Director of Nursing for ARH Psychiatric Hospital in Hazard, KY for 13 years. She worked as a Hospital Administrator for Eastern State Hospital, before joining The Ridge in June 2015, as a nurse. She quickly worked her way to Director of Performance Improvement and Staff Development, Associate Administrator, Chief Nursing Officer, and, most recently, as Chief Operating Officer.
Julie Cropper, Director of Risk Management
Julie is a board-certified psychiatric nurse. She began her career at The Ridge in 1999 and has worked as a unit nurse, charge nurse, nurse manager and Director of Risk Management. She’s been the Director of Risk Management for the past nine years.
Brenda Davis, Director of Clinical Services
Brenda began her career at The Ridge in 1999 as a therapist on the adolescent unit. Brenda worked 10 years as a therapist and then became our Director of Clinical Services nine years ago. Brenda has a bachelors and masters degree in social work.
Michelle Bowling, Director of Business Development
Michelle began her career at The Ridge in 2005 as a therapist on the adolescent inpatient psychiatric unit. During her tenure at The Ridge, she has worked as a therapist, intake counselor, mobile assessor, business development representative and Director of Business Development, a position she has held since 2015. She holds an undergraduate degree in social work from Morehead State University and a masters degree in social work from the University of Kentucky.
Jessica Durbin, Director of Outpatient Services
Jessica began working at the Ridge in 2015 as a Satellite Outreach Coordinator. She moved from our Satellite offices to Director of Intake and Admissions in 2017, and most recently, as Director of Outpatient Services in late 2019. Jessica obtained her bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Kentucky. She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and she is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT); Trauma Systems Theory; Gottman Method Couples Training Level One; and Seven Challenges.
Robert Hooper, Director of Performance Improvement
Robert has been with The Ridge Behavioral Health System since June 2017. In 2013, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resource Leadership from Sullivan University. Robert has worked in healthcare for seven years with a primary focus of quality analytics, population health and performance improvement.
Sonia Joyner, Director of Human Resources
Sonia began her career at The Ridge in 2017. She has over 10 years of Human Resources experience working in healthcare, government contracting, and non-profit. Sonia holds a masters degree in industrial-organizational psychology and a bachelors degree in psychology.
Cassi Fisher, Director of Intake and Admissions
Cassi began working at the Ridge in 2014 as a nurse on the Adolescent Recovery Unit. She quickly became the Unit Charge Nurse of that unit and held that position for almost 4 years. She played a pivotal role in employee engagement from 2018-2020 as President of that committee. She is currently the Director of Intake and Admissions, where she has been acclimated to that role since November 1, 2019. Cassi received her Associates in Nursing from Galen College of Nursing in 2008 and her BSN from Kentucky Christian University in December 2019. She is currently working on becoming a certified psychiatric nurse and plans to begin her MSN program in August 2020.
Lucy Gentry, LCSW
Lucy first came to The Ridge in 1998 as a child and adolescent social worker. She served as a therapist on our extended care unit, and later as a mobile assessor. Lucy operated a private clinical practice and other business ventures before returning to The Ridge in 2018. She worked as a utilization review coordinator and then moved to business development full-time in August 2018. She has a Master’s Degree in social work and is a certified school social worker.
Jerian Shaw Petry
Jerian representative for The Ridge since 2015. Jerian has worked in public and community relations for over 16 years. Jerian attended Eastern Kentucky University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations and a Master of Arts in Human Services. She serves on advisory boards for Leadership Madison County and Southern Kentucky Area Health Education Center (AHEC). She currently serves on the board of the Madison County Agency for Substance Abuse Policy (ASAP). She is a graduate of Leadership Central Kentucky and has the honorable distinction of being a Kentucky Colonel.
